Walk-In Showers and Fixed Glass Panels in Fort Worth, TX

Walk-in showers skip the door entirely. One or two fixed panels of heavy glass contain the water, and the entry stays wide open. Davis Glass Service designs and installs walk-in enclosures and fixed glass panels for homeowners across Fort Worth and DFW.

What Is a Walk-In Shower with Fixed Glass?

A walk-in layout uses fixed glass panels instead of a door. The glass is anchored in place with minimal hardware, so it reads as a clean sheet of glass rather than a door assembly. Fixed panels can also be paired with a door when you want both.

Why Homeowners Choose Walk-In Glass

An Open, Modern Look

Without a door swinging or sliding, the shower feels larger and the tile gets all the attention.

Easy Access

An open entry is easier to step through, which also makes walk-in layouts a good fit for planning ahead as you age in place.

Simple to Clean

Fewer moving parts means fewer places for buildup. Wiping down a fixed panel is straightforward.

Planning the Layout

Splash control is the main design question on a doorless shower. The farther the shower head sits from the open side, the less water reaches the floor outside, and a wider or deeper shower gives you more room to work with.

✓   Panel width and height, set around your shower head and valve location.

✓   Where the entry sits relative to the vanity and toilet.

✓   Glass type, such as clear, low-iron, or frosted. See the glass options .

✓   Whether you want to add a door for extra containment. See hinged and pivot doors .

Fixed Panels Beyond the Walk-In

Fixed panels are also the building block for other layouts. They pair with a swing door in an inline enclosure, sit at the end of a tub , or cap a steam shower with a full-height or transom panel.

FAQ

Walk-In Showers and Fixed Glass Panels FAQ

  • Will water spray out of a walk-in shower?

It depends on the size of the shower and where the shower head sits relative to the open side. We plan panel width and layout around that at the estimate.

  • Is a walk-in shower glass-only?

The enclosure itself is heavy tempered glass with minimal hardware. Your tile, curb or threshold, and drain are part of the bathroom build.

  • How thick is the glass?

We install 3/8 inch and 1/2 inch tempered safety glass that meets ANSI Z97.1 standards.
